about.

For a school assignment I made a minizine: a small book with a special folding method that made designing creative and challenging. The minizine is a guide with information about various places in Ravels, supplemented with photos, short pieces of history and a map of a beautiful cycling route. On the back, a map unfolds with the cycle route that connects all the sights.

challenge.

The assignment was to take photos in my own village around a theme of my choice. I chose the more classic and child-friendly places in Ravels, such as a play forest, a chapel, and a presbytery. I made illustrations of these photos in a recognizable, continuous style. Finding the right style was a challenge, but in the end it worked perfectly. In addition, I had to consider the special folding method, the layout of the info pages and the design of the card.

results.

The result is a colourful and playful booklet that is informative and visually appealing. Thanks to the bright colours and the creative placement of the images on the info pages, the minizine got a fresh look. The map on the back makes the route immediately usable, and the whole shows how several aspects of graphic design, from photography to illustration and layout, come together in one project.
